The BlackBerry Bold 9700 is the successor to the original BlackBerry Bold 9000. The new Bold 9700 comes with a 2.6 inch TFT display with widescreen aspect and 480x360 pixels. It has a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera and all-round connectivity consisting of 3G, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. The traditional BlackBerry trackball has been traded in for a miniature touchpad and the newcomer features the latest version of the BlackBerry OS, version 5.

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 has been described as "the most gorgeous BlackBerry on the planet" with a titanium chrome finish on the bevel that contrasts against the glossy black finish on the front and leather back. The front of the 9700 looks good too with a crisp and vibrant screen. It has a fantastic keyboard with a curved design on every key to enable precision typing.
